JIM PACE

Instructor

    Jim Pace is a professional racecar driver who has driven competitively since 1987. His many successes include prestigious wins as the Overall Winner and GT Winner in the Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona sportscar race; a two time victor at the 12 Hours of Sebring sportscar race; and a sportscar Series Champion in the International Motor Sports Association (IMSA) GTU class. Recognized as a top driver, he regularly races formula, Prototype, GT, and vintage cars throughout the world recording wins at both Spa, and the Nurburgring circuits.

    Respected for his skill and integrity as a driver, Pace is in demand as a driving instructor, racing coach, and adventure consultant. His love of racing, combined with a passion for teaching, made him one of the most popular instructors at the renowned Skip Barber Racing School for over 20 years. His teaching style appeals to new and experienced racers and a generation of well-known racers have all benefited from his coaching.     As a principal in Historic Sportscar Racing since 2015 Pace has been Race Advisor for the Classic 24 at Daytona and Classic 12 at Sebring providing driver training to a host of international drivers. He understands the racing business from all roles as a driver, promoter, and organizer.

    Jim was born in the USA and is a graduate of Mississippi State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Zoology. He also attended University of Mississippi Medical School before entering the world of racing.
